When is the self assessment deadline?
Online Self Assessment tax returns are normally due by 31 January after the end of the tax year. Paper returns are normally due by 31 October.

Payment deadline
The 31 January deadline is also usually the deadline for paying any balancing tax due for the previous tax year, plus the first payment on account if one applies.
Do not wait until January
Leaving records until the final weeks increases the risk of missing income, claiming expenses incorrectly, or discovering a tax bill too late to plan cash flow.
